Your body is truly remarkable. You have numerous in-built natural processes which are there to maintain optimal health. You can naturally repair damaged bones and tissues, fight infections, maintain a healthy body temperature and circulation, destroy cancer cells and other organisms that may threaten your health, and much more besides.
Sometimes one or more of these natural balance sustaining processes is compromised, or breaks down, making it necessary to seek the help that your body is calling out for so that it can begin to regulate itself again.
There are many factors in our noisy, stress-driven modern way of living that can act as serious disruptors to your health and wellbeing. In today's fast-paced world, many people may find themselves struggling to cope with the countless effects of stress, including anxiety, or problems with sleep, or sometimes more serious and chronic long-term illness. As individuals, we each have our own responses, and many of us are seeking effective ways of balancing the effects of modern living, feeling a need to restore peace, and harmony, and a sense of wellbeing.
These are important factors in encouraging your body to activate its’ natural healing mechanisms again. The quest for balance and well-being has led to a resurgence in ancient healing practices. As experienced practitioners of Sound Healing and Acupuncture, we have found these treatments to be very helpful and effective, not only promoting relaxation but also helping restore homeostasis in the body, allowing for, sometimes significant, improvements in your vital health.
Integrating Sound Healing with Acupuncture treatment works to harmonise and balance the major energetic structures of the body, the emotions, the mind and the spirit. This Integrated Therapy works with both the chakra systems and the meridians, making it a deeply profound, and at times, powerful experience.
Chakras
Chakras are spinning circles of energy that are sited along the central line of the body. They are located at different areas of the spine, from the lowest tip of the spine right up to the crown of the head, and their location reveals which areas of the body that they are each associated with. There are seven major chakras and many more minor ones, together creating the energy that maintains good health in a person. The chakras have a close affinity with the endocrine system, each one being closely associated with a particular gland, and organ in the body.
Each of these spinning areas of energy, sometimes thought of as ‘wheels of light’, relates to an aspect of health. The energy created by the chakras flows through the whole of a person making its way through the dense physical body, to the emotional and mental processes to the highest spiritual aspects. When these wheels of light are moving freely and each one is communicating with the others, then good health is experienced on all levels of life.
However, there are many ways, including through stress or illness, in which these fine flowing wheels of light can be disrupted, blocked, or become disharmonious in some way, and it is the task of the Sound Healing Practitioner to identify these areas of disharmony and to rebalance the chakra system.
Using sounds and vibrations created by therapeutic instruments, and by scanning the body with a vocal tone, any areas of blockage, or irregularities in the movements of energy can be located, and again, using these instruments and many vocal tones, the disharmony or imbalance can be addressed.
Meridians
Meridians are pathways or channels that carry energy, or qi, around the body. They are situated around the surface of the body and create a network of communication, a little like a network of rivers, or roads, which directs qi to where it is needed. There are twelve major meridians, and many minor meridians, which all work together, each having a particular task to play in maintaining good and vibrant health.
Each meridian has an association with a particular organ or process and directs and transports healthy qi to this aspect of a person. Each meridian also has an association with the emotional and mental processes, and for carrying energy to the highest spiritual aspects.
The Acupuncture Practitioner can assess the health and balance of the meridians by “reading’ the flows of qi. This is done in many ways, but includes assessing the quality of the qi flowing through the six pulses on each of the patients wrists. Each of the six pulses gives a reading of the meridian that it is associated with, and together with other means of diagnosis, helps to give an overall picture of the quality and balance of qi that this patient is experiencing.
By using hair fine needles in tiny acupuncture points along the meridians, the levels of qi can be gently adjusted, and any imbalance or disharmony can be carefully addressed.
Integrated Healing using Sound and Acupuncture
In our experience of working with many clients, with a wide variety of needs and health issues, combining sound healing and acupuncture creates a powerful synergy that greatly enhances the benefits of both practices.
We have found through our practice, that imbalances in the chakra system are reflected as imbalances in the meridians, and vice versa. We work very closely together, each of us using our skills to bring about balance and harmony in the person we are working with. If we discover energetic ‘stuckness’, or ‘blockages’, as can be experienced in more major illnesses, then working together seems to clear and reharmonise these disruptions, quickly and gently.
The chakras and the meridians together create an energetic structure. As both systems of energy become harmonised and synchronised, our patients report, sometimes significant improvements in their health and wellbeing. The experience is always held by an atmosphere of nurturing and care. Together we design each treatment for you as a unique and wonderful person, encouraging a blossoming on all levels of your health.
Your health on all levels of your being – your body, your feelings, and your thoughts, is your most precious gift.
